Rhapsody CrossFit welcomes Gina DiGiacomo to Team Rhapsody.
Born and raised in Shrewsbury, MA, Gina came down south to pursue higher education at the College of Charleston.
Always active and an avid athlete, Gina found herself in limbo when a series of ACL injuries curbed her competitive high school gymnastics career. Feeling lost in gyms, lacking motivation and missing that team camaraderie, she finally gave in to her sister’s insistence to give CrossFit a shot.
One class at CrossFit 1727 turned into a seven-WOD-streak, and Gina was hooked.
When she moved to Charleston in 2018, finding a CrossFit home was the top priority to help ease her transition to a new city. With the whole DiGiacomo squad in tow, she dropped in for a signature Sweaty Saturday at Rhapsody CrossFit and signed up to be part of our community that day.
Ignited by her personal experience and inspired by the patient-therapist relationship, Gina declared her major in Exercise Science and is actively working towards a promising career in physical therapy. In 2019, she became a Recreational Gymnastics Coach for the Gymnastics Academy of Charleston and joined the Rhapsody Coaches Mentorship Program.
A constant source of sunshine, encouragement and motivation, Gina’s positive energy is contagious as she works to give each member the best hour of their day and make sure our gym feels like home for them too. If you need to be reminded of your potential or a pep talk before the workout, she is here for you in spades.
