It’s that time of year again when hundreds of thousands of athletes from across the globe come together to compete in The CrossFit Open

Although things may look a little different this year, we’re here for it and cannot wait to host the fun at Rhapsody Fitness in Charleston.

Hold up! What is The CrossFit Open?

From Boston to Bangkok, athletes show up to compete against each other and themselves to put up their best scores in a series of shared workouts over a three-week period.

As the name implies, this event is open to all ages and levels of fitness – whether you’re just getting started or are a seasoned athlete.

Known for challenges, triumphs and personal records, The Open is all about seeing where you stand and shooting your shot for a chance at the next round, or even a coveted spot at the annual CrossFit Games.

You have my attention. Where do I sign-up?

Register online at games.crossfit.com – the whole process will take you all of 5 minutes and costs $20. Make sure to select Rhapsody CrossFit as your gym.

Your registration will grant you access to the mobile app and custom leaderboard with new features including the ability to create your own communities using hashtags.

Best believe we’ll have the Rhapsody Fitness community at the ready.

All signed up! What now?

Game on! This party starts on Thursday, March 11 with the first workout announcement.

On Friday, March 12, each Rhapsody Fitness class will run The Open workout – if you’re signed up, we’ll set you up with a judge and record your score. If you’re not participating in The Open, don’t sweat it and just do the workout like you would on any other day. We’ll rinse and repeat this schedule the following two Fridays.

What is your why?

Whether you’re wanting to know where you stand alongside your fellow athletes from around the world or wanting to push yourself to find a new edge, The Open is where grassroots meets greatness.

Yes, there is an element of competition, but it’s more about coming together as a community, cheering each other on and allowing you to challenge yourself – appreciate how far you have come, celebrate the athlete you are today and get excited about your potential.

If you have any questions about signing up or how it all will work this year, grab any Team Rhapsody member for details.
