By Alan Shaw, Co-Founder and Head Coach of Rhapsody Fitness in Charleston, SC
What a year it was. Reflecting on these past 12 months, I am in awe of our comeback story – yours, mine, the Rhapsody family and our Charleston community.
We have some serious fight in us and are coming out on the other side of unimaginable trials and tribulations better, stronger and fortified for the next.
Despite all odds, our team and community grew, not only in numbers but also in the depth of our relationships.
While welcoming new misfits from near and far, we doubled-down on our commitment to supporting our neighbors through Sweat + Serve and the Rhapsody United In Strength Scholarship Program. To date, we have accumulated 1,100+ service hours dedicated to Lowcountry organizations and local initiatives.
We spoke up. Leaning into sharing our stories, we raised the bar on Rhapsody’s media presence covering topics from the business of fitness with our Box Building series and community features to fresh resources on training, mindset, nutrition and more through Rhapsody News, Rhapsody TV and Rhapsody Radio.
And we were heard, catching the attention of Men’s Health, Morning Chalk Up, Bodybuilding.com, and Box Pro among others.
In short, we showed up. And I am proud to know each and every one of you.
THE NEXT
Going into our fourth year, Rhapsody is even more motivated to serve our Charleston neighbors with a special emphasis on supporting underrepresented communities. We are in the business of building better people and believe, now more than ever, the change we want to see must begin with us.
Building on current momentum, we will continue to expand and enhance our mission through outreach with our surrounding neighborhoods, connection with each other and community pillars, and reach beyond our four walls through intentional and influential media content.
Strong on our own, we are a force combined. And we are just getting started.
Are you ready? Give me a hell yes!
