Hailing from Coopersburg, PA, Lee Evans enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard right after graduating high school. As a Boatswain’s Mate, he sailed and served from the tropical Caribbean islands to the icy Bering Sea over nine years.
Winning the location lottery, Lee transitioned from his station in Honolulu, HI to Charleston, SC, where he served as a first responder for our Lowcountry waterways for four years before becoming a reservist and returning to the College of Charleston to pursue his degree in Exercise Science.
Always in motion, Lee’s first official introduction to fitness was powerlifting where he competed throughout high school. It wasn’t until Hawaii that he found his way into CrossFit Kailua and was instantly hooked – line and sinker – into the functional fitness space.
Hearing the good word on Rhapsody Fitness throughout the Charleston community, Lee dropped in to find the rumors were all true – this was in fact the prime facility for people who were hungry to be better, humble to receive exceptional coaching, and happy to pursue their best lives.
As is his way, Lee dove head first into the Rhapsody Coaches Mentorship Program.
For him, each member has already done something noteworthy by taking the initiative to walk in the door, and his role is to motivate and encourage their process and progress. Serving us well beyond the four walls of our gym in Charleston, Lee believes the work done here will help each athlete flourish across all aspects of their lives.
When Lee isn’t honing his clean and jerk or practicing mindfulness, which are of equal importance in his book, you’ll find him taking this outside on a bike, surfboard or as far as his two feet will carry him.
